Obi Mbu: An Igbo Creation Myth

Support one of Hazelwood Local’s Illumin-Ave artists on February 25 at 7pm at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater for the Pittsburgh premiere of “Obi Mbu (The Primordial House): An Igbo Creation Myth” by Mikael Owunna and Marques Redd! “Obi Mbu” is a 30 minute experimental dance film that retells a West African creation with Black dancers from Pittsburgh Ballet Theater gorgeously illuminated under a backdrop of ultraviolet light. The screening will be followed by a lively conversation with the cast moderated by KST executive director Joseph Hall.
